2nd gen steering column in 1st gen truck
I have the steering box mounted, only broke 2 pullers and a ratchet getting the old pitman arm off. I had a couple of cheap two arm pullers, and snapped the bolts out of the arms. Bought a good pitman arm puller, snapped a ratchet. But between me and dad, a two foot breakover, and a four foot cheater bar, we got the job done.
I just tightened that nut with my fingers. [that doesn't sound right either] Gonna try to ship the stuff freight collect to simplify things. Couldn't get our secretary off her duff today because it's the end of the month invoice time. Seems like their was a separate harness that plugged in behind the right valve cover, went to the trans. Wouldn't swear to it,been over a year and a halfsince I did my swap.
There is a set of wires that comes up from the transmission behind the right valve cover. The connectors are different though, but I don`t think that`s too much of a problem.
