need help with wipers

Default need help with wipers

ok maybe im stpid but my wipers quit on me the other they had been working fine ishut them off and not 5 minutes later when i went to use them again they wont work the washer wont work either so i was thinkin it might be the switch but i wanted to know if anybody else has had this problem....its an 85 dodge ram d-150

I have indeed had the same trouble. Try tapping the bottom of the washer motor and see if they start working. After I half beat mine to death over the period of about two years I had to wash the motor off so I pressure washed the entire engine compartment and since then they have worked like a dream. You could also disconect the wires at the motor and check with a volt meter and make sure the juice is getting there. If not I would check the switch to make sure it is getting power.

hey thanks worked like a charm....went out at midnight beat the crap out of the motor and they came right on.....i'll remember that for next time

I've had that happen on my 87 D100 and 5th ave. Just run a ground wire from the wiper motor to the firewall. These motors have an internal ground that goes to one of the mounting bolts and they lose it sometimes.
