Default engine fitment question

i have an 86 w150 4x4 318 auto i believe its a 727? would this work if rebuilt and put in my truck?*****
1978? Dodge 318. Complete less carb, water pump, starter, fuel pump. I purchased the motor 5 years ago for a project. Have not used and need to get rid of. I was told that the motor has approx 70k miles, and that it was out of a 1978 3/4T pickup. Motor has been kept in my garage.****** THANKS FOR RESPONSES

As far as I know, there should be no problem installing the 78 motor in the 86. I heard that Chysler did redesign the 318 block but not until the late 90's to early 2000's
