Default V10 in a 85 w150

I found a v10 from a 96 ram has just over 100,000miles on it and guy needs to get rid of it fast and doesnt want that much for it. I was thinking on buying it since the motor in my truck is from a 74 ram charger and has 180,000miles on it and the 318 is a dog. So my question is will it be too much work to try and get it in my truck or is it a waste of time. I would just like to make my project truck a little faster.

A waste of time!To much work!
If I had a chance to get a v10,I would be on it.
A v10 in that truck would be great and you will have plenty of power.
Do it.

For the amount of time you will spend trying to make that work, I would just build the 318.

Guy wants 450 for engine and tranny if I could make the 318 run like that v10 I would do it but I doubt it would for that money. Said it would also need waterpump and also needs removed but I think for that price its worth it even if I have to pay someone 200 to weld motor mounts it would still be good.

if youve got engine and tranny i guess it wouldnt be that bad, as long as you dont mind fabbing up mounts.

but remember youll have to add things like rad, and tranny cooler, maybe some other surprises.

moreover, the 8-liter LA V-10 produces "only" 300hp/400tq. You could maybe match these numbers for about the same price (either a build with what youve got or put in a 340/360) and a lot less work.

But the end of the day, that V10 is a V10 with serious potential. i wihs i knew more about doing it

A V-10 would be cool, but I wouldn`t use a truck motor. A built 360 wouldn`t cost that much more by the time you include all the fab that has to be done.

but a built 360 is almost maxed out by the time it hits the stock power of the v10. Plus 450 is pretty damn cheap for motor and tranny.

You also have to chane the wiring harness. A V-10 requires a computer. It`s fuel injected.

Most of the truck is all there only thing that is gone is axles and the cab is messed up. I can get anything from it if I need to the only thing that Im not familiar with is fuel injection and I know ill need the computer for it and electric fuel pump but thats all I know of.
