dash gauges are very very inacurate.
Suggest you temp install a mechinical gauge to get a true reading.....knowing the oil pressure will guide the next step.
ok. i never worried about the low reading, but the trucks been having some issues which i cannot figure out and my dad said "well if the oil gauge is reading low, start there."
I know the factory says six lbs. is ok at idle but I have never had any vehicle have that little except my 1934 Chevy that did not have a full pressure oiling system.
All the mopars I've had idled around 25 to 30 lbs.
25-30 at idle? my haynes says 8lbs is ideal, but i figure with age 6lbs is acceptable.
how do i get an accurate reason on the oil pressure? im gonna drop the pan today and check for a sludge blocked pickup screen. i just feel stupid doing all that work when i dont really even know if my prussre is low
