Will that keep my coil from sparking even though the coil wire isn't hooked up?

The reluctor triggers the spark by turning through the magnetic field.
If the gap is not right I believe it could result in a weak or possibly no spark.
I am not an expert on this, but just tyring to figure it out long distance.

Sure, and I appreciate the help. I will double check that first thing in the morning and report back my findings.

You mean pull each plug and put some gas into each that way? About how much should I put? If that doesn't work, what should my next step be? Thanks for all y'alls help.

I'll double check tomorrow but I think the carb is filling the bowl. Everything was running perfectly, by there was a chunk of the distributor that I could not retrieve from wherever it gets stabbed. I tried starting fluid today but no dice. The fuel filter and EGR valve have both been replaced. I did notice today that the choke vaccuum is plugged or cut, can't really tell. I'll report back tomorrow!

Ok well the starter died. Replaced it and nothing. Going to replace the rotor and quintuple check the reluctor gap and there should definitely be enough spark to get that fire a burnin'.
