Does somebody have ahd experience using the #2177 camshaft and streetmaster intake amnifold with a 650+ cfm carburetors in the 350 LA series engines?

Is there any way to find out if the LA engine is a roller lifter version without disasembly the enginee?

Does someone knows a part number for adjustable valve traing rocker on this engine? Increased radio (1.6 or bigger) rockers?

We are buidilg a torque monster 360 and would like to go on the solid lifter direction infavor of better off ilde torque....

Don't do it man. If you haven't seen a post of what I've got here it is:

edelbrock performer intake manifold, 2177 performer cam, holley 600 carb, stock heads (factory 4bbl), hooker comp headers 1 5/8" into 2 1/2" into a Y and 3" back from there. With an A727, dying torque converter, 4.10 gears, 35" all terrains, and a 14x4" open filter it put about 180hp and 255 lb-ft to the ground.

I'm seriously considering going with a different cam. My buddy runs a 318 with an Edelbrock 1405 600cfm, Comp cam (not sure which one, I think it's a 220 something or other, idle-4500rpm power range), manual tranny, 3.55 gears, and 31" tires and pretty much everything else the same and he's putting down identical numbers. Granted I'm making more flywheel power but I seriously believe there are better cams out there.

I'd check out Hughes Engines, read what they have to say, and pick one of their cams. www.hughesengines.com I'm tossing around the 1523 and 1928, but you'd want to look at the solid lifter choices if that's where you want to go.

As far as the roller lifter question, I'd guess a production date stamp would be a good indication, what the split is I don't know, and you never can tell if it's been messed with previously.
