I think we have all suffered from CAI (cranial **** inversion) at one time or another with our vehicles. Be very careful you don't put the oil pan on backwards. LOL

Today I fought with my windshield wipers in my 74 w200. I lost the battle, still won't return to park position on it's own haha.

installed a new waterpump and cleaned out the carb a little. also gave it a taste of some premium gas (the station was out of mid-grade gas). it ran better so may just stick with it.

I put the temperature switch in boiling water to test its continuity. It failed. Order two more from RockAuto, different brands from before. Next time I will test before installing on the engine.

are you using a digital multi meter to test it? i don't know if you would get continuity until it would hit about 260*F. the temp sensor i removed from my 81 has 260 stamped on it which is what makes me think you will not see continuity or the temp light come on unless it is too late. not sure if you can get a temp sensor that will make everything work better.

Seems I don't have any numbers stamped on mine, but based on what you said, I put a butane torch to it. I got continuity. So, it must be over 220 degrees. I guess the switch is/was good after all. Thanks again!

Starting to cover the door panels with tweed, then make some inserts with brushed aluminum, eventually the dash and console.
