88 ram 50 guzzling gas
I'm not sure why my truck is drinkin so much gas. Just bought it last Sunday. I filled him up on Tuesday and it's Thursday now, and I'm almost down to a half tank. I made a few stops besidesjust to work and back which is like 3 miles away from my house. What do u guys think is going on? And what can I do to get awesome mpg or improve my mpg? Fuel filter? Carb cleaner? I don't know what to do need some help please. Thank you

Well I want to use this truck as my daily driver, and i want to use it to carry my dirtbike and other things if needed as well. The truck doesnt have the greatest idle, but im going to replace the fuel filter, spark wires, distributor cap and rotor, and it needs a new power steering belt. Will this help my mas mileage? I know this truck is somehow consuming more gas than it should.

like SEAL said you probably have a leaking fuel line somewhere if you are getting 2-3mpg. new spark plugs, cap and rotor might help a bit but if you have a leaking fuel line your fuel milage will not go up. your truck is 22 years old. those fuel line are probaly original. there is probably a few spots that are rust through. this could also cause your truck to not run right.

hybrid vehicles are a joke. we should have mention that the fuel line is leaking is most likely in the frame rail behind the gas tank. all vehicles tend to have this same problem over time. you should be very careful if you do replace it. the brake lines will probably also be very fragile behind the gas tank if they have never been replaced.
