I'm running 32s on my truck. Its an 89 d250, with 16 inch rims, and its 2wd, but I have no issues at all. I think I could get away with 33s. If yours is a 4x4, I'd say go for it, no worries.
i'm planning on a 4" lift another member here showed me... but money is tight this day and age. just looking to spiff it up a bit in the mean time with something i can still use when i get the lift, but i don't know if 33's would look right with 4" of lift front and back. i know it will take 35's on 15x10's with 4" and i think that might look better. dunno?
its not stock (cause i did some trimming) but i'm running 35x12.50 on my 90 half ton and the only place/time they rub is at full turn to the right. the drivers side tire rubs on the steering ball joint coming out of the gear box. don't know if this is any help.
I'm thinking you will be fine. You already have more clearance than I do, and all is well for me. Our trucks have the exact same body. My personal choice would be to get a cheap set of 33s, run them until after I get the lift, and then buy a better set of 35s after the 33s are bald.
Have you made sure your gearing can handle the 35s? I'd imagine a stock 318 with highway gears would not like that setup very well.
i work with a guy that has a late 70's ford with a factory high boy option on 32's with 15x10 rims... he swears even the same setup he has will rub pretty bad with out a lift.
Maybe on a ford. But I swear to you that 32s on a dodge at factory height, even for 2wd will not rub. I'm not guessing. I have the setup, and I checked for rub yesterday. There is way more than an inch of clearance in all directions.
