Hey man its a diesel and an older one at that and its a 12 valve so its mechanically injected when you accelarate hard or your trucks engine is under the load of itself or a trailer or somthing you burn a lot of fuel and just a little bit extra because your injectors are putting in a little more fuel baisically slight overfueling which is normal. that little bit extra fuel is just unburned fuel.that is what the black smoke is under hard accelaration or just starting out moving. and when your driving normally the engine is burning al the fuel that is being injected. its normal to have some smoke thats why diesels are fun.
