Default ANOTHER big block swap thread! haha

Ok, I just bought a 1973 Winnebago Brave 20-something footer. Drove her home with no problems! It has under 60,000 on it too.

It's got a 440 and a 727 in it. The motor is between the seats... can't wait to get this thing outta there, looks like a nightmare!

My question is this:

Since I have a complete donor vehicle do I need to still purchase anything? Can I use the motor mounts, radiator, tranny, etc?

You have to use the big block transmission, slightly larger bell housing, but same guts.
I picked up a big block and trans and will be putting it in my 76 W200 after it gets done over. It was already built but it sat in a barn and was over run with mice.
When we pushed the truck out of the barn the mice were jumping out of the radiator the tailpipes and the heads. Real funny site to see.

Well a lot happened in the last month and a half.

Gutted the motorhome and got the motor/tranny out. Turns out the 73 Winnebago RV was just a Dodge 1-ton frame extended at the rear!

The motor mounts, wiring, etc literally bolts right in to my truck!

I'll have pics up soon as I get it in there. Can't WAIT to gain 200hp over my crappy 318!

Swap was finished long ago but never posted pics...

Engine is factory rated at 335hp. Some higher comp heads, non gas-mileage cam, and a new carb will fix that number haha

Every old motorhome should be lucky enough to grow up and donate its big block to a pickup before going to the big scrap yard in the sky.
