Default Edelbrock 440 "Power Package"

Looking at this:

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...chrysler.shtml
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2087/

For my 440 in the truck. It's idle to 5500rpm which is perfect for a truck.

I can't seem to find dyno tests with this kit nor do I know what carb would be best for it.

Anyone know? Anyone running this kit?

that engine came out of an RV and as is it should have a fair bit of power, torque and will not be too hard on gas. i don't think the power gain would be worth $2200. if you are going to start spending that type of money you would be better off to buy turbo kit or super charger.

Well this motor is rated 230hp/360lb-ft which is sad... and the gas mileage isn't a concern really.

Have a suggestion for a matching 750-800CFM Edelbrock carb?

dodge engines tend to be under rated. the only way to find out would be to tune it up and have it tested on a dyno.

While it'll give you more than enough torque, it's probably alot lower compression than say a muscle-car era 440. My dad has an edelbrock top end on his '70 383 with 10:1 pistons and a purple shaft-style cam that's putting out just over 420 hp and around 400 torque. But for a truck application, torque is where it's at, so even a lower compression big block should be a handful to drive, especially with a light-rear ended truck.
