Default Need 440 oil pan for 2wd!!

Having a hell of a time trying to find an oil pan for my 84 D250 440 swap.

It needs to be a 2wd; 4wd is front sump and won't work.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure if the 2wd truck and the car used the same crossmember location?

I just found a site that carries the right pan but they are $100! Wish I could find one in the boneyard :/

I don't think the car pan will work, I put a 400 BB from a car into a 2wd truck and the truck needed a rear sump but the car had a middle sump. I actually had to splice the top of one oil pan (that fits the motor) to one that had the sump in the right location. It was a real pain but I was on a budget and parts weren't as available then (1986 or 87) as they are now. Also I had not even seen the internet at that time. Good luck, mine was a fun toy and very dependable.

I might be remembering wrong (It was 20+years ago) so the front sump might be for the 2wd. Sorry for any confusion, I just remember that I ended up making an oil pan for it because I could not find one that worked.

But I have a 2wd (84 D250) and it's a rear pan setup. I was told the 4wd was the front sump?

I think that might be right. I do remember that the 4wd and 2wd were different. At that time I found several 4wd pans but no 2wd. Good luck. Have you found the big block motor mounts and the exhaust manifolds?

I'm using the mounts from the RV; they bolted right in and everything lines up.

I went with some nice full length headers for the exhaust. I'll be running true duals down the outsides of the frame.

Usually the 4wd are a rear sump. With a front sump in a 4wd, the sump will be positioned directly over the front axle tube - one good bounce and there goes your pan/pickup tube.
