Default base and s

Every time I'm on a parts website it asks if I have a base model or a s model and I've never known the difference can any one tell me? Thx

I have been buying parts for my truck for 20 years and have never been asked that question. (maybe 1989 didn't have this difference) Please provide some context for this question such as specific info about your truck and maybe a link to a site or two asking it.

I too have seen the base or s when searching the net for parts. I wondered what it was all about but I realized mine is a plain Jane truck and assumed it is a base model.
