ill come right out and say it, i tried searching the forums to a solution to my problem so if there was a previous topic about this i apologize and hope yall could refer me to the page

about 6 months ago, i made the (most likely unwise) decision to buy a 1990 dodge w150 shortbed. after months of battling an unspeakable amount rust, engine problems, past maintenance mistakes, a non existent break line, and a lot of injuries including severing a tendon and almost losing my finger, i have finally done what many have said was impossible and got my truck back into roadworthy conditions. now i plan on having a little fun with it and want to give it a little more height. i dont plan on raising it high enough that ill need bushings, blocks and the like, just a measly 3-4 inches to get my tires a little more space if i plan to use the 4x4. now i have looked everywhere for a half decent set of leaf springs that will do the trick, and i cant find any anywhere. some places have just the front set, others have just the back, most dont have my year or model. i know rancho used to sell em but ive been through their master catalog several times to no help. i dont want add-a-leaf because ive heard that they tend to make everything just that much more miserable and my springs are worn enough that they need replacing anyway.

so if anyone has any advice on where to get a decent pair of lift springs or maybe even a compatible truck of a different make it would be much appreciated. thanks!

 

jc whitney has them for $290.00 4in rough country without shocks. front leafs and blocks for the rearend.

 

My 91 Was the same way. After about $2000 worth of parts and some shop work, its in good shape, but now it needs a fuel pump. Theyre good old reliable trucks tho if you dont count the regular stuff (brakes, rust, etc) Good luck with it!

 

i saw the ones on jcwhitney. was kind of hoping to get new springs for the rear though instead of just putting blocks in. i might end up having to do that and get new oem springs but only if i absolutely cant find anywhere else

and ya so far i love this truck. ive heard of a guy whos put +/-480k on his and it still runs. most serious engine work hed done was a new valve (along with the standard maintenance stuff. ill try to get pictures up once i finish with the bondo

 

i picked up a new airtex fuel pump from rock auto on sale for $123.00 last month

heres my only problem with spring shops. they generally list their springs by the amount of weight that theyre rated for, and i dont know the conversion factor for the amount of lift. like the amount of lift difference between a spring rated for 1400lb and one rated for 1900lb.
