lowering/levling opinion
so i want to level my d100 here....basically i was gonna flip the back axle (put axle on top of springs) and looking to make the back sit level or very close to the front
but im not sure if it will sit lower in front then back...
currently it has all stock suspension(no rear blocks)
heres a pic tell me what you think

moparborn has a real nice lowered 88 D100. You might pick his brain and see if he can help you out.

I gotta agree though that if you're going for the lowered Hotrod look, fattys in the back are the way to go and some racing style rims. You could probably keep the front tires with some aluminum rims. Though I like the white wagon wheels, they are offroad rims and will look mix matched on a lowered truck. What size are those tires- 235-75R15's. Keep the rear tires for spares later. Maybe a 275-70R15 minimum in back. A good tire shop that wants your business will let you try a couple of sizes on to see what they will look like. Don't forget to put some sleek rearview mirrors instead of those trailer-pullers.

Removing springs will destroy ride and load carrying ability. There are many options for raising the front to level the truck and they give you much better control over how much movement you get. Lowering the rear is harder to control how much movement you get without going to a 4 link and air bag system.
If you know how much you want to move the front a call to a spring shop should yield positive results. I would also think if you contacted an air bag manufacturer they should be able to help you replace the front springs with an air bag set up without changing the rest of the suspension system.

First you must figure out whether you want to lower the rear or raise the front. Next you need to figure out how much you need to move it to achieve the proper look you want.
Measure from the middle of the front wheel wells bottom lip to the ground. Put a jack under the middle of the front end and start to raise it slowly until the truck is level or has the look you want and retake the same measurement. The difference is how much you need to lower the rear or raise the front.
