Default air pump/emissions removal

I want this BS gone. Belt was off when I bought it. What needs to be pulled (besides pump obviously) and plugged here? Just don't want ear-ringing noise from under the hood. anything else affected by this?

Also, everything I've read states I am emissions exempt, so legality isn't an issue. Gas mileage and power are...

My belt was off mine when i got it 6 years ago, I took the pump and brackets off, then i took the bolt off on back of each head [where hoses go] i left about 3 inches of tubin on each rolled the tubin and flaten it with a hammer, No leaks no problems 6 years later, Alot of people here will tell you they won't run right without the pump but thats not the case with mine,We don't have emimission testing here don't know about your state

The battery ground will bolt to the front of the head just like the old days. As far as the the air tube, I put small expansion plugs (freeze plugs) and hi-temp RTV. No leaks to date. I also put a new cat without the air tube. I tried the fold and smash for the cut air tube first and it didn't work for me. It came out looking cleaner the other way. No emissions tests here either.

so, did you have problems eating power steering belts and constantly overheating? the power steering belt drives the water pump. this has happened to me twice in one week...frustrated beyond belief...

Mine still has the p.s.belt that was on it when i got it, Had no problems you are putting it in the front groove, so the belt lines up right

well, its off. i cant understand why i ate up a power steering belt in a week. i know i installed it good and tight,,,as for the smog pump, i disconnected everything, unbolted it, had a hell of a time finding bolts that would work because they also hold the water pump on... wound up using 3/8 threaded rod, figured out the length, cut, dressed, and bolted em down. as for the tubes, i just plugged in the hose to the tube for now. doesn't seem to hurt anything that way...

I don't think you need the tubes plugged. I pulled all the stuff off my 86 and just left them hanging. Never heard a peep outta them. As for the bracket bolts that go to the water pump, I just knocked the ears the bolts run through off the smog pump with a chisel and used them as spacers.
