and where is this? ecu the same as fuel sending unit or something different. i notice there are no wires going to the carb thus it has to be before it right?

 

the icm should be bolted to the firewall. how did the sending unit look since you say you replace the fuel lines. the lines in my gas tank were in great shape but the ones on top of the sending unit were rusty and holey.
