Hey Jeremy.. I put BB 383 in my 87 shorty, cuz your truck already has a v8 the engine mounts that are welded to the frame will have holes in them marked A and B on them, A for small block and B for Big Block, U will definatly need to find BB engine brackets for the motor and you will definaly have to move your trans crossmember back a few inches my shorty came with a V6 and I had to cut out the left motor mount out and weld one in from a V8 truck a bit of work but for what Im doing with my truck well worth it. good luck
