Default 70's bumper/hood on 86

i have found a old 78 ish bird bath hood, and the older 70's "skinny" bumper, i can get it for next to nothing, in fact just swaping parts lol

now i have an 86 d100, i did read the hood will fit but i need the cowl, which he has as well.

is there any other issues i need to know about? also on the bumper? id guess id need brackets for it

well i did the same thing but in reverse years ago. i had 78 d150 and put 88 hood and cowl on it. the only thing is for the hood you may have to fabricate the latch part on the hood,or maybe just use the latch parts from the 86 hood. good luck

I like that hood. Reminds me of a '71 383 Roadrunner. I'd like to eventually have a "6-pack" style hood scoop on my factory hood or maybe go that route. Definitely has the old muscle car look.

there should be a way to get either latch from the older hood or the 86 hood to work,i had to do some bending and drill new holein the top part that is on the hood to make mine work when i switched from 78 hood to an 88 hood but it was so long ago i dont remember, all i know is i got it to latch and close good. good luck
