Default Grinding for a lift?

So Ive decided between a Skyjacker 4'' or a Superlift 5'' life for my 92 w150.

Im hoping to do it myself. Ive read the instructions for Skyjacker and they seem very thorough. Read Superlift as well, I like the Skyjacker instructions better but they both seem fine.

Looks simple enough except for two things. 1. The Lowering brackets for the sway bar. Not sure if this is really I just dont know anything of it. 2. Both instructions mention grinding on the CV cluster to prevent binding. Does anyone know anything about this? No one Ive asked so far knows anything about having to do grinding for this lift. This may be the deal breaker if I decide to have someone do it. The shop I usually take it to says the labour on the lift will be about 500 bucks.

Any info will be much appreciated, thanks.

Just lose the sway bar. No need, It will only hinder off road performance.

Grtinding, or clearancing, on the driveshaft is normal. I did it on my '72 (non cv), and haven't had any issues with it. my buddy did it with his '86 (with cv) and he has no issues with his either. Post pics when it gets done!

My truck will be on-road more than off-road so losing the sway bar isnt a good idea for me.

Is the grinding actually done on the CV itself?

My bud with his '86 says after he took his sway bar off it rode better, and is actually more enjoyable to drive. My '72 never had one, and it was my daily for 2 years.

Yes there will be some grinding on the cv, as well as possibly the driveshaft, if it needs it. Wherever the u-joints contact will need to be clearanced.

ok.

So now I guess the only thing that is left is deciding on the lift? Superlift or Skyjacker? Seems for a Dodge Ive read more people prefer Superlift. And thats what you mentioned in one of my other threads too

Also Ive read about some Beilstein shocks. would they be worth getting?

Bilstiens are great. I have never heard anything bad about them. I run ranchos on my '72 and im happy with them.

Cool.

Do you have any good sites to buy a superlift with rear lift springs? Ive only been able to find the rear blocks option. Superlift's site has the option but I would think I could get a better deal elsewhere.

Dunno if thats cheaper or not, interesting that the "system" option is harder to find.

For the lifts, there is an optional item to buy, an adjustable draglink. Its quite expensive. It is really that important? Would a stock would be fine?
