76 dodge fuel issue??
Picked up a 76 dodge 100 with a 318 (stock). Will NOT start when cold without a shot of starting fluid. Once its warm it starts every time...???
Has rebuilt 2 barrel Carter. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, choke, and a full cleaned fuel tank.

When you first try to start it cold...pump the gas fully to the floor 2-times before turning the key. This gives the engine a shot of fuel and sets the choke (closes it) for cold start.
After it is warmed up you don't have to pump the gas because the engine doesn't need the extra fuel shot and the choke is (if properly rebuilt) not needed as it is for cold start.
If your still having a problem take the truck back to the shop that rebuilt the carb and ask them to look at it...they may not have adjusted the carb\choke correctly.

Pumping in any way doesn't work and it has a manual choke. Everything done at once because it hadn't been done in probably 10 yrs and it sat for over 5. Found out today it was parked in the first place for doing the same thing... I'm wondering if its a fuel line issue, maybe sucking air, clogged...

You haven't answered the questions that have been raised here. When it is cold. Does it squirt fuel into the carb throat when you give it gas? Does it squirt fuel as it should when warm? Does the choke set closed like it is supposed to when you manually activate it?
Did the rebuilder install the carb on the engine or was it someone else?
