I would doubt it is the flashers as the 4 ways and the turn signals each have their own and they go bad so infrequently it is not likely they would both fail at the same time.

i know it is not likely that both relays would go at once but they might have over time and no one replaced the one that never got used.

that little 5"x4" beige fuse box under the dash by the pedals is the only one. there should be 2 round flasher relays in it.

I considered that possibility and it is easy to check but Wilson N.C. has annual auto inspections and the fact that my flashers are still original equipment and still work. They are not a high fail item. So I concluded that it was less likely. JMHO

well guys, i want to thank you guys for all the effort you guys gave. i went out earlier just to kick the truck in the @$$ once more..but this time...THE FREAKIN HEAD LIGHTS CAME ON!!! i was flabbergasted (lol). i popped the hood and took another look to see what the freak could have possibly been different but it was nothing cause no one touches my stuff. i decided to further investigate each headlight and its entirety when i noticed the plugs that connect to the back of the headlights were severely loose. i guess i thought thats how they normally sat before because i tried to push them on further but they would not budge. so i got a hammer and flat head and carefully knocked each plug on as far as it could go. they seemed brighter and even the freakin signal lights worked..IN THE BACK TOO!!! they didnt work before. God must have touched my electrical system or something. the left flasher still doesnt work on the dash but as long as they work on the outside, i could care less!!! just am freakin ecstatic. now got to fix the phantom bog with the truck and im good to go. it dies at random. i think since it sat for so long, maybe it needs a new carb. also seems underpowered. any thoughts? thanks again guys

You must have scared it into working. Loose connections, corrosion, and bad grounds, they'll give ya fits. Bet the dash turn signal indicator is a bad bulb.

The dash blinker bulb is easy to replace, if you have a small hand. Otherwise you might have to pull the instrument cluster. The right one is easier than the left.

Radio Shack has a electrical connection spray cleaner lube. You might spray your conductors and connections with this. Most parts places just have the spray cleaner.

Still, you might consider swapping out the sockets all the way around. The rear lights of mine were rather rusty, as well as the front blinker sockets. The little side markers in the front seem to be well shielded from the weather.
