No spark?
Hi,
I'm trying to get this 1986 W150 manual 6cyl. running.
It's been sitting for 3 years.
Looking in the repairmanual they talk about an electronic module. Can't find it. Can it be that this truck doesn't have it?
Can't find the ballast resistor either.
So far put in new ignition coil. Distributer cap and rotor. Ordered new sparkwires and pickupcoil.
Don't know if it has Electronic control unit or spark control computer?
Any thoughts may help.
Thanks.

you will want to check behind the battery. if there is a computer then you have the lean burn system which could make it a bit more difficult to track down the problem. i think the first thing you should be checking is if there is power at the positive side of the coil and how much? does it so much as try to start firing when you are holding the key in the start position?

That is your voltage regulator for your charging system...

Hi,
Think this must be the computer for the lean burn system.
So I'm checking the 10 way connecter for voltage. Cavity 1 and 2 are good. cavity 4 there is no wire hooked up but there is in 3. That didn't read any voltage??
New sparkwires and pickup coil.
Not sure how to proceed if there is a short between 10 way connecter and coil.
Thanks.
