Default 93 d150 wont stay running

I have a 93 d150, 318 5.2 liter v8 I just bought it off a supposed friend, I had it put in the shop for tune up, ground issues, large amount of steering drift, and an oil leak, a month later all seemed well and I drove it for about 2 weeks, I'm on I-95 in Georgia and it starts making an extremely loud banging sound so I clutch and drop to neutral and coast the side for about a mile, my engine just goes and quits. I get a friend to come and tow my truck home, pop the hood and manual crank the engine. It goes 3/4 of the way around. So I ask some advice, ( this is my first mechanical trial) I find that my connecting rod snapped on the first piston. I pulled the number 1 piston and arm off an identicle 93, everything in the cylinder was alright and I cleaned out my oil pan, bought all new gaskets and rebuilt the head. Ok. I turn the key and it started right up. My only probleem was that if I took my foot off the accelerator it dies, it wont idle, so I read a million threads on df and my father said my timing sounds off, I get my rotor on pin 1 and harmonic balancer on tdc, put it together check my lines check my vacuum hoses, all seems good, I'm excited, then it starts up and does the same thing, I am a rookie but have a lot of common sense, ( s*+t, it took me only 6 hours to rebuild it) bit now I'm at a loss, rough idle and it wont stay running, any insight or ideas would be appreciated.

did you take the distributor out? the distributor on these trucks does not control the timing and if you removed it you may be in trouble if it was not put back exactly where it was. did you clean the idle air control valve on the back of the throttle body?

here is a diy of how to clean it. it is a bit harder to do on a truck since it is on the back of the throttle body but not impossible.

Thank you for the info, (as soon as I saw your post I looked it up and cleaned it, but I couldn't respond, my phone froze!) Bit it was hardly dirty, it was good to do, I reconnected my battery and still the same. I ran code and only a 12 due to disconnect.

When you press down the gas pedal does it rev up like it normally would or does it seem weaker or odd in any way?

It revs up like normally, sounds like it did prior to connection rod going.

Idk. Sound kind of strange. The only thing I could think of is possible clogged fuel injectors. But if it revs up normally then I dont think that would be the problem.
