that could also be an option. almost seems a bit cheap. i think before you order a transmission though you should confirm that it is a 46RH and not 46RE like they say in the title.

Change the fluid and filter and adjust the bands before you go to all the trouble you are talking about. This may very well be all that is needed since you have caught it early.

You can not flush the newer torque converters while they are on the vehicle. The old torqueflite converters used to have a drain plug. You can flush the lines and cooler with the proper equipment.

46re was not used till 1996. Everything before 96 was still hydraulic governor re is electronic garbage, I have one.
What engine do you have? 3.9 uses 42rh and 5.2 and 5.9 use 46rh
see here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen-ram-faqs-diys-and-how-tos/292409-what-automatic-transmission-do-i-have.html.
There is wealth of info in the 2nd gen forum FAQ's section on these tranny's.
Also follow instructions on how to download and watch this video https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...8-46rh-re.html.

Also check to see if you have this and delete it also https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...46rh-46re.html

Lots of info in this thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...info-only.html

The sonnax kit is not a shift kit. its only purpose is to fix inherent design flaws from the factory.
This explains the purpose of a shift kit http://www.allpar.com/mopar/shift-kits.html

The biggest difference would be the extention houseing's d100(2wd) looks like this
And the w100(4wd)looks like this
You would have to swap extention housing's.

There is more to it than that...the housing holds the OD section of the trans so it is a complete tear down and swap then reassemble the trans.
