Post Burning Oil Like Crazy

Recently bought a 1993 d250 with the 360 v8 and i have been going through oil like crazy about 1.5 quarts over 300 mile span. 120k miles on the truck and im thinking it may be rings but could it possibly be the plenum gasket? Any responses greatly appreciated, thanks for looking.

could try checking spark plug number 7 & 8. if your plenum is blown then you will most likely see them burning oil. could also try replacing the pcv valve. i have been told you want to buy these from the dealer. the aftermarket ones apparently don't work that great.

Seems like normal operation to me. HA! Just kidding. You can shine a flashlight down the throttle body to see if there is any oil seeping in after its been sitting a while. At 120k miles, I'd put my wild guess on the plenum, not the rings.

Post Update

Bought a PCV Valve from my local dodge dealership and will be replacing soon, also there looks to be oil on the bottom of the intake manifold and also some oil on the butterfly valve of the throttle body. Doing a compression test tomorrow to see how the compression is. So i think ill be replacing the plenum gasket. Ill keep you guys updated!

Did a little more looking in the intake manifold and i dont see a lot of oil more like moisture and black spots of what looks like burnt oil and when i rub my finger inside past the butterfly valve of the throttle body becomes black with oil and there is some oil on the air filter lid. So should i just go replace the plenum gasket or would it be something different?

replacing the plenum gasket an pan would not hurt if you think it is leaking. if it is not leaking then it is preventive maintenance.

there is a DF member that sell his aluminum plenum pans on ebay for cheaper than hughes. you just have to buy a flex pro gasket set which he even gives you the part number for and you are all set to fix it for under $100.

Would a bad plenum gasket cause condensation in the intake manifold?

i don't know about condensation but it could cause oil be sucked into the intake and pool at the lowest point.
