Default Well, it IS brighter!

As if my bright blue 1991 needed to be brighter. I painted my wheels Sunday. Only took about two hours, and it came out nice. I did this with my Blazer and everyone loved it after they saw it. When I told people I was going to do it though, different story! Everyone said it would look like crap....now they all like it! So do I.

I pulled the wheels off the truck, used a thin cardboard between the tyre and rim, and used rustolem Bright Yellow paint. I prepped them with 3m scotch pads lightly (they were new right before I got the truck) and cleaned them with brake parts cleaner and let them dry for about an hour before painting them. Oh, and I painted the chrome things in the center satin black whilst at it.

Great job, I like the contrast with the yellow and black on the inside. I painted mine while they will still on, but did not get around the lug nuts, but that is covered up by the hub cap. I might go ahead and pop off the tires like you did and paint the rest.

Looks like an old macho power wagon. Is your blue the factory paint?

Mine was blue before but a same shade metallic electric blue. This paint job is horrid....someone did it without prepping the truck at all it seems. I am going to have it repainted at One Day some time in the spring since it only costs about 300 dollars for a damn sight better paint job than this. I will sand all this junk off first before I take it to be painted ans strip all the parts off before that too.

Thanks man! I didn't pull the tyres, just pulled the wheels off the truck and used a mask in the slot between the tyre and wheel. On AT TA's KOs there is a rim / bead protector that leaves a channel between the tyre and rim so the cardboard fit in there perfectly. I used a box from Twinkies to do it! HAHAH!

Here's a pic of my old Diesel Blazer I did the wheels on. It was silver where it is white in this pic before I did the wheels too. I did the white on the truck then the yellow wheels in a day and it turned the truck into a looker instead of yet another invisible blazer.

Call me crazy but I like it. Kinda like the Macho Power Wagons. Just need a nice yellow accent stripe with Power Ram or something to really make it pop.

Just curious if your top was repaired. It looks like a line above the door. If so, show some pics. I'm in bad need of some new skin above my windshield. Mine's completely rusted out.
