Default Good Manifolds?

Hey guys I am taking the headers off the truck and going to put manifolds back on it for reliability and towing purposes. I have a 90 4x4 powr ram with a 360. I have battled leaky headrs for two weeks and tried every gasket i can they are just warped. I am asking what yoi guys think is the best stock type manifold i can put on the truck. What can i look for at the junk yard thx guys in advance.

You know before you trash the headers, might try cutting the flanges between the ports so that they can seal separately. May solve your leaky headers.

I have been looking around and I think I may just buy a set of hedman headers like the ones on our el camino. They are great headers and I think the ones on my truck are el cheapos can't find a name and upon further inspection it looks like they are leaking on the bottom of every port.

Did you plug the injection holes in the bottom of the exhaust ports before you put the headers on?

I didn't put them on but I didnt know about injection holes. That may be what is leaking, I have no idea what are these are they "crossover" style ports for the stock egr or something? And what do I plug them with? Thx a ton for opening up the subject I was on summit in another window as we speak.

tap the holes to either 5/16-18 or 1/4-20 (whichever is closest) and install cap screws. Do
not tap all the way so that the plugs don't go all the way through but deep enough to be flush with the surface.

Edit: FYI I've had great luck with the Headman Elite headers on numerous vehicles..

Good deal thx for the info with your pics and all the posts from here and other forums I have read I believe this may in fact be the villain here. I have a 3 sets of taps so I should have it covered and I will head to lowes and scoop up some plugs. Any idea how hard it would be with the engine in the truck because this is my reality. Im sure not to bad because I have gotten real fast at taking the headers off, lol.

They are not bad to do at all, just the rear most ones might give you a little trouble is all. Again, only tap them deep enough for the cap screw to fit flush and as mentioned double check the size you will need. Mine were perfect tapping to 5/16 but others had to go to 1/4"

Gtg and by the way all I have ever bought myself is hedmans they do use a thinner flange on there entry level headers but it is also made from a harder steel than the rest. I will ask Frank over at hedman what the metalury numbers are tomorrow.
