That pic makes it look a lot lower than it really is since I was standing about 4ft above it's level when I took that. But it is not high up in the air at all.. 2in lift max I say. And I seem to remember the guy I got it from said it had a 2in lift.

if the combination of height and width will give me trouble what about just going with a taller tire. say 33x10.5.

I will say that going with a tire the height of a 33 is a possibly bad thing to do. It changes the gear ration enough so if your stock ratio isn't at least 410:1 the truck has a hard time with not only power, but mileage. I have had this happen three times until I finally got it and had to stick 411s in my Blazer since after the lift, and wheels and 33 12.5s it was SO SLOW and went from an in town of 11 to 8 I changed both front and rear gears from 3.55s to 4.11s and the truck came back alive and got back to almost stock mileage. And there isn't even that much difference between a 355 and 411.....

Pretty much anything you do to make the tire wheel combo heavier is going to negatively effect mileage. It also can be worse if they are larger in diameter. Little know fact is larger diameter decreases gear final drive ratio and hurts mileage. IE (and this is not accurate bt you get what I mean!) you have 355s and a stock tire, you slap on a 33 your ratio is now in the area of 300 or so to 1. Therefore to get back to a stock gear ratio (final drive) you need to spend tons on 4.11s and having a shop install them correctly, and are still turning way heavier tires so still loose mileage. On the other hand, makig your tire wheel combo LIGHTER helps mileage. I was getting 28 average on my 2004 Zetec 5 speed Ford Focus and went to a 16in tire wheel that was the exact same outer diameter as my stock 15s on steel wheels. My new tire wheel combo weighs 31lbs, and the stock ones weighed 43lbs! My mileage just because of this swap went to an average of 31, now with new plugs and a K&N and a slight tune it is 34.5.

Like was said above test fit before purchase. I bought a 74 power wagon with an old 6" lift and 35's and they scrubbed at full stuff. But my dad has a 77 with a 4" trail master kit with 35's and it never scrubs. So there are several factors to consider in my humble opinion.
Good luck
