Rumble Strip Noise
I find that the stock caliper clips break and rust easily, so I made my own out of a spare dust guard for my quad. If you want to upgrade the clips, you need something that you can form very tightly to the caliper, since the clearance between the caliper and wheel is minimal, at least in a 3/4 ton.
Well it has not done it since so I think its fixed.
The caliper was hardly loose at all. The bolts for the clips and everything were tight but when I removed it the caliper was nice and shinny on the top and bottom where it connects to the bracket. You could also see that there was some wear.
I agree with the clips. I bent mine a little to hopefully put more pressure on the caliper and I also put a thin washer on the bolt to make sure it wasn't bottoming out.

Well.... It was away for three weeks then came back so now what? I ordered new clips and that didn't help. I got that side of the axle torn apart and all the bearing look fine. The two things that concern me are when it was together I could grab the shaft with a pliers and wiggle the shaft a lot. Also now that its apart there is a tiny bit of movement in the ball joints. What would cause this noise!!! It seems to occur most of the time after hitting bumps but not allways.
