so if you stomp on the brake and the truck quits i would be looking at your brake booster.

If I soak it with carb cleaner at idle it doesnt change the sound of the engine any. And now it will die just at idle. Gggggggrrrrrrr. Well. This what I get my self into when the truck only cost 550. lol

at $550 you were lucky to get a truck that actually ran.

soaking the brake booster with carb cleaner wont do anything if the diaphram inside the booster is bad it could cause it to just die because of how big of a vacuum leak it is. could also try reseating the brake booster check vavle. i have had a few strange problems with it causing my truck to cut out.

Could find that in a chilton,??. Or could u describe that proccess to me. Also I was thinking , it only cuts out when I am going forward. It hasnt done it in reverse yet. Maybe the fuel pump is weak and when the truck stops the fuel in the float moves and causes a fuel shortage????. Thanks for ur help.

just take the check plastic thing connected brake booster out of the brake booster then plug it back in. could just be a bad seal.

It was loose and it stopped the vacum leak noise when I tightend them but still dies out . Could it be a bad voltage regulator.????.

voltage regulator should not effect whether it runs or not. it controls the alternator. if it went bad it would either fry your battery or not charge not charge the battery.

Cause it was dark and I had the lights on and I was moving forward slowly and slowly applied the brakes and it started choking and the lights were flickering and then it finally died and puffed out the carb. I know im throwing crazy symptoms out there. Ill try to narrow it down tomorrow. Any last thoughts would be appreciated. Im gonna put a timing light on it tomorrow! The chilton manual doesnt have a timing degree setting for the year and make of my engine and was wondering if I should just go with 12 degrees before TDC???
