Will 77 360/Np435 combo work in 91 W150
Hello, I decided that i would rather keep my truck (for those of you that don't know my motor is bad and i was considering selling it) I had no luck finding another truck i liked as much as mine. My truck currently has a bad 318 with A518. I want to do a 360/np435 swap. Like the title says, i found a 360/np435 combo on craigslist from a 77 truck. Will this work with my truck without major complications. I know i have TBI, how hard is it to concert truck from TBI to carbed. Also is the 435 different length than the 518, would i have to modify driveshafts. Any help appreciated, the quicker the better

It is just the motor and trans, I guess i will have to look for DS on car part, unless someone can confirm they are the same. My big question still remains, will the 77' 360 work in my 91' truck??
Come on..... somebody has got to know something. On the flip side, since i believe the majority of people will say stay with TBI, how hard is it to convert a carbed motor to TBI. To start off with, what are the advantages to each, I have done a lot of reading on this, but all I seem to come up with are conflicting statements. Some say carbed is better power/milage and others say TBI is better. Secondly, would the one I have on my 318 work (assuming not, but asking anyways). Thridly, is there a lot that needs to be changed, or is it just slap an intake and TBI on and go. Another point, would the ecu/pcm need to be changed, or will they be willing to work with the 360.

Yes. It will work as long as you can get spark. You could probably just slap on the manifolds and TBI, and I think the distributor, but it wouldn't flow enough, and would probably never run right, especially with the 318 computer. If you had a 360 intake and TBI, that would probably work.
The TBI motor has a roller cam, and arguably a better head design. TBI has better manners, and needs less upkeep, but isn't as easy to get extra power out of.

What I think I would do, would be to install the motor and do the manual swap, then on a later date I could/would do a TBI conversion. Question still remains-Will the carbed motor fit in my truck, and what do I have to do to make a carbed motor work in my truck
It will absolutely fit. It's the exact same block.

OK, so it will fit. I have been doing lots of reading on the internet, from what I understand (correct me if im wrong) the main issue is that the alt, distributer, and fuel delivery are all computer controlled. If I get this motor it will have all parts i need (I think), could I use the stock fuel pump and just put a reg on fuel line to turn down psi, or would it be better to use mechanical one that would come with the motor? Would it be possible to use stock gauges (oil pressure, alt, temp). Secondly, I understand there are different versions of the NP435, I believe the one I want is the NP435L (I read somewhere that chrysler used these 65' and up), question is will it bolt to my NP241 Tcase? I am planning on turning this into my summer project, and will hopefully have and 1-2 hours a day to work on it. Sorry for all the questions, I just need to know exactly what I'm getting myself into. Once again thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!
