So have a 1989 dodge ram 250 318 fuel injection. I have replaced fuel filter. Coil plugs wires.distributer cap.check vacuum lines everything checkes out. Problem is truck will start fine little hesitant but some pedal motivation and it goes. Idols perfect . No fluctuation. Drives great but when coming to a stop it dies. Or slowing down at all really . And is very hesitant off the line as well as little back fires here an there not often. Very stumped. As besides this truck runs like new. No problems else were no smoke at start or anything . Any help on this problem. Diagrahms etc will be greatly appreciated. It iS my daily need to fix asap

 

Start by checking for codes and check your fuel pressure

 

No codes coming up. And ship said fuel pressure was good so Iuno.

 

i would guess one of the sensors on the throttle body is causing this issue. could also try adjusting the idle speed control.

 

Did the adjustment didn't do anything. Starting to stall worse and worse now and has very hard time starting

 

have you tested the throttle position sensor?

 

No have not any way to test quickly? Don't have a multimeter or anything..

 

i am pretty sure you will need a multi meter to test test it.

 

So that's good. So trucks auto trans . When I put it into reverse or drive the rpms drop from 750 to 350-400 ish then rise back to 750 .and will sometime stall. Or will shortly after while giving gas. Could it be trans related . Have changed/ checked everything and everything is operating great. Really stumped

 

Does its problem cold and warm now ... If that helps.
