brake problem

Default brake problem

ive got a 85 4x4 prospector and cant get the brake warning light to turn off have checked rear brakes they are good changed
front brakes fluid is full and switch on proportioning valve checked good with ohm meter when i unplug wire on warning switch it goes out

I think the switch is normally open, and when the valve moves, the switch closes. (completes circuit to ground.) Try having a friend pump up the brakes nice and tight, hold pressure on the pedal, and crack open one of the rear bleeders. Do that a couple times, and see if the lite doesn't go off. If it doesn't, do the same, but, crack open one of the front bleeders. Should reset the valve.

did ya check the parking brake switch?? it lights up for that too
