Default Oil pressure warning light! Engine swap questions

1991 d150 with the 318. This happens when i get off the highway. The oil pressure warning light comes on and now the gauge is dipping lower than I've ever seen it. I checked the level and it was fine. This truck did a lot of sitting before i got it and I'm concerned that the oil pickup is partially clogged or the main bearings have a lot of wear causing excessive clearance. It has a piston slap sound when its cold in the morning. Im not sure what to do.

Im of the mindset since this is my daily that i might want to find a good motor to swap in. I have to pull this one because of multiple bad oil leaks so if I'm pulling it then i might as well upgrade.

So with that said....im thinking of either a 318/360 magnum motor from 92/93 or a cummins. How much am i going to be dealing with to do these swaps? Im no stranger to motor swaps but have never done a dodge one. I know with the cummins i would need to swap in another tranny as well. thats fine as i want overdrive.

I think I'm leaning towards doing the magnum swap for budget reasons. Has anyone done TBI to Multiport on this board? Things i should know going into it? I would also be going to the 4 speed overdrive at the same time. Do i need a new steering column with auto shifter to do this? I currently have the three speed auto.

Nice. Yea I'm taking the plunge. I lucked into finding a 93 with a magnum 360 and an overdrive trans recently rebuilt but i guess everything about the truck is real rough except the motor and trans. Im going to pick the whole thing up and swap what i want over to it my rig. Should make for a fast-ish fun work truck being that mine is a D150 shortbed.
