Forum newb here and thanks in advance to anyone who might assist. I'm pretty sure that I'm overlooking something REALLY obvious, but I'm trying to pull the fan clutch so that I can replace a faulty waterpump. I've researched the heck out of the fan clutch removal procedure but found very little help for 1st gens. I understand you have to have either the spanner tool or other means to lock the pully in place, but I cannot see a nut on the shaft to attach a wrench or other tool to break the clutch free. What am I missing? I have an '89 d250 5.9 gas. Thanks.

Thanks, Moparite. I did order a manual and followed the instructions to remove those four bolts, however, the fan clutch is still attached (stuck?) to the pump shaft. I'm thinking a little "persuasion" is in order? I'm trying to do this with the radiator still installed so I can't get too crazy for fear the fan and clutch will pop off and hit the radiator.

Thanks, HeyYou. In this case a pry bar positioned on the seam and a gentle tap with the hammer and it popped free on the second tap. And by golly, they bury that pump behind a whole lot of stuff don't they. Hopefully, my meticulous labeling of bolts and other hardware will be enough for the reassembly
