Hi All,

I just joined this forum and this is my first thread. I have been reading different posts for awhile. It has been awhile since I have had my last Dodge pickup but I just purchased a project truck a few weeks ago so I will be on here quite a bit moving forward.

I got a 1988 D-150 with a 5.2 and the 727 transmission, unfortunately when I bought it the transmission dipstick was missing. I have contacted the dealer to find out that it is a discontinued part and also have had no luck finding it from the aftermarket either in brick and mortar stores or online.

All that to get to the question, does anyone out there have an extra transmission dipstick for this truck laying around you want to sell, or can someone that has a comparable truck take a measurement for me of theirs so I can make one?

Doesn't summit racing offer a chrome one for the 727?

Many thanks, I did find one there. Though I have to buy the entire dipstick tube as well. What I was hoping to find was just the dipstick, but that seems to not be an option. Through my search I also discovered I don't have a 727 but the 904/999 tranny. Summit also had the locking dipstick for that as well so I will be purchasing it shortly.
