Default Rebuild 1986 B350 Vapor Canister Internal Filter Question

I'm rebuilding a vapor canister for a 1986 Dodge B350 Van 360ci. I'm trying to find specs on the internal filters used (material). In lieu of that, the filter sizing could be helpful too. The canister is stamped p/n: 4227032.

A call to the Chrysler tech center yielded no results, not even a mfg. 1-888-528-HEMI (4364)

Default canister

I believe that the canister is meant to be replaced not rebuilt .

True, however I have not found a direct replacement.

Chat with a junkyard that has a parts locator. Might be able to scare up a good used one... but, given how old the van is...... might require a good deal of patience.

Yes but it can be done. The one on my 96 ram got water in it due to the a hose. I took it apart dried out the charcoal then put it back together. I did price it and it was to much $ that's why i took it apart. If you look around you should be able to get the foam end that keeps the charcoal in. It was available(don't remember from where) for my 96 and looks almost identical but it was not foam if i recall. Do some google searching under the part #. You could make one from foam and a coffee filter.

Dealers won't have this due to the age, Look up some places that deal in NOS parts.
