Default ABS problem

I have a 1993 d150 and the ABS light is NOT on but yet the ABS system does nothing at all. The brake pedal is really mushy and it makes a sound that sounds like air from the booster but im not sure if it is normal for older trucks. My main issues are the ABS system and the mushy pedal. If anyone could help me out a little i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

If it's just rear wheel abs, it doesn't work worth a damn. Even on the newer trucks....

I’m not sure if it’s only rear wheel. I know nothing about these old brake systems. I don’t think the rear wheels have ever locked up on me

Check the fronts, see if there are wires leading to them. If not, you have rear ABS only.

The rear ABS never was really worth much. On my 96, it might just as well have not been there at all. Pretty much the same on my 98.....

If your rear brakes work the way you would expect, if you DIDN'T have ABS, I wouldn't worry about trying to "fix" it......
