Default Alternate Thermostat 1992 D150 3.9L engine

I found out that repair shop put Alternative thermostat in my Engine it is set to 180 Degrees I called auto parts store and the parts tech told me that engine normally rated for 195 Degrees I think I called the same parts store where repair shop got parts for my truck. Will it hurt my truck to run at the lower temperature. All I could find so far is that ("Most cars now have computers, which constantly monitor the engine temperature and adjust things accordingly. If the computer thinks the engine is cold--and it WILL be cold without a thermostat--it'll richen the fuel mixture. That will lead to poor mileage, carbon buildup, and eventually, a $400 repair bill for a new catalytic converter. ") I do not know if this will hurt my engine

I don't think your truck will care over much about the lower temp stat. Fair few folks run 'em, without issue. Newer trucks are bit more picky. If you live somewhere that winter is an issue, may wanna swap it out though, for heater performance.
