93 d150 cranks wont fire
It uses both, The engine on initial start needs to see the crank signal(so it knows it's turning) then it looks for the cam sensor(so it knows where the engine is (cylinder #)) before it fires the coil. The crank needs to make one complete rotation before this happens. I also think the pcm is not seeing the crank signal so further investigating is in order.
Found a broken wire connection at the junction of the black/blue stripe wire by the bell housing. Fixed the break and it fired up! Runs rough from the seafoam I put in the tank but it runs! Now to put it back together.
