I am trying to Figure out why I am only getting around 6-7 volts to my coil. I am getting 12+CDC to the resistor and voltage regulator. 1986 D250 360cid carburated. Thanks.

you shouldn't be getting 12v out of the resistor. resisters lower the output voltage.
