Default Quick suggestions 1988 D100

OK all new here. I have a 88 D100 5.2L that spends all of its time about 150 miles from me. It had sat most of last year with less than a quarter tank of gas. When I went to start it it started for a few seconds then sputtered out. I it will run briefly with starter fluid. unfortunately I did not have my tools with me to do much work but i did replace a bad fuel line. Any suggestions on where to start trouble shooting when I go back up in a couple weeks?

Check fuel pressure. Make sure it is actually pumping gas, and not some other crap that may have accumulated in the gas tank.

think it is worth just draining the tank and throwing new injectors in?

Draining the tank is most certainly a good idea. Flush the fuel lines, and see how it goes before going after injectors though. They just don't fail very often.

Might want to put in some fresh gas and see what that does. Look down the throttle body when it's running, If you see the same amount of fuel coming out of both of them(idle and rev) then they should be fine.

That system is the worst fuel system ever on a 318. I got rid of my 88 like 20+ years ago because I was tired of fighting it. Replaced EVERYTHING some things more than once, went down the garden path of an engine overhaul replaced heads that I discovered were cracked along the way and could never get over 8 mph. I've had big blocks that were better than that on fuel. It got only slightly better by 90 but still junk.
On my son's 89 ramcharger that whole TBI setup went in the trash in favor of a simple 4 barrel carb.

Put 150 of the 200K+ on my 1990 and not a single issue with it. The injectors can go bad and dump fuel into the motor. What the pcm is seeing also effects fuel mileage(02's temp sensor etc). Any way the OP hasn't been back since his post on 6/17.
