I have an 89 d100 and want to get either a cover or new seat to replace the old torn bench seat. I would like to keep the bench seat, so where should I look to buy one and should I replace it or cover it ? I just joined the forum so sorry if this is a dumb question.

 

No such thing as a Dumb question, if you don't already know the answer.

Fair few folks will offer seat covers, depending on what you want, they can be anywhere from dirt cheap, to hideously expensive. If there is a decent upholstery shop near by, they could rebuild the seat cushion, and re-cover it for you as well. Also not cheap.
