I recently purchased some used chrome rims for my 81 Dodge ram d250 Stepside that has the Dana 60 rear axle with the oversized (12.5?) brake drums with very large lug nut studs. For some strange reason nobody seems to carry the larger (bigger than 9/16) extended length lug nuts to fit. I cannot be the only person to put chrome rims on a Dana 60 rear axle with the large lugs!! I went to all the local auto parts stores, custom rim retailers and even an RV supply dealer and nothing. The stock lug nuts won't work either. Any suggestions?? Thank you.

 

Talk to the folks that made the rims.

Nope, not stupid. I don't know how many vehicles I got at the salvage yard that someone didn't ask questions and just started hammering away The first step towards wisdom young grasshopper is to ask the first question. All us olde phartes here have learned from others over the years.
