No cold air when AC is selected.

Is there places still able to recharge these old systems or will I need to look at converting it to the new system?

Probably going to have to convert to R134a. Kits aren't really that expensive.

I bought a bunch of R-12 before they quit selling it in the grenades. I still have a case and a half and it will probably just sit. Go ahead and convert the system to R-134. Servicing it is MUCH easier and you can buy R-134 in the grenade cans. They are called grenades because the old R-12 cans can be hooked up backwards and over pressure causing them to explode. I've never personally seen it happen but it's not the sort of thing I've tried to do. I'd let a reputable shop do the conversion. Generally, they will flush the old mineral oil out and replace it with PAG oil and then charge the system. The pressures will be different. Generally, a conversion won't be as cold because the system wasn't designed for it but it will make it bearable in the hot weather.
