Default 1988 W100 Spraying Fuel

My truck will start if I soak the air cleaner with gas.
I replaced both injectors, the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel filter at the tank.

The truck runs but does not seem to be drawing fuel.

I took the air cleaner off and witnessed the truck start right up then die with a glorious spray of gas bouncing up out of the engine.

I assume the injectors are getting gas, hence the spray but that gas is not getting into the engine.
It sounds like the gas runs out of the injectors when I turn the ignition on, makes a puddle and then sprays up and out when the engine coughs.

I am stumped.

The injectors shouldn't be spraying anything if the engine isn't turning....... If you just turn the ignition on, but, don't try and start the engine, is fuel still coming out?

Yes. As soon as there is power fuel flows through the injectors.

could be the timing is off or could have a bad cam if it is blowing gas out the TB instead of sucking it in.

Then there is a short in the ground side of the injector circuit, or, the PCM is roached.

When you turn the ignition on(not cranking) it should prime the system and shoot some gas into the motor but it shouldn't stay on. If it is "coughing" when it stalls that may cause the engine to misfire and turn the crank backwards spraying fuel out the top. Carburetors will do this and throttle body injection is not much different. Think it's time to look at the ignition(plugs, wires, cap/rotor) and check the timing.

I don't think it should inject ANY gas until the PCM actually sees the engine turning....
