Default Bad torque converter on a 1985 dodge d-250

So within the last 5 days my trans after like 10 mins of driving seems to be overheating then refusing to stay/ go into 3rd, like at the beginning of the drive it’ll act its version of normal but after that it’ll start slipping out of third. Then last night it started doing it in second, and then it slowly wouldn’t go in any gear besides reverse and now it won’t go in any gear. When it wouldn’t go in drive 2nd or 1st I didn’t hear any odd noises but when in neutral it made a wirring sound. Then my buddy got it to go into hear and I tried to limp it home, 1 min later it slips back out. I’m still learning about older cars and cars in general but I’m here to learn so if someone has an idea and a good reason for the idea then I’m all ears and Ty. And recently whenever I let off throttle in any gear it makes a swooshing sound

Time to drop the pan, and see what you find.

that’s gonna suck lol. I just dropped it like a month ago to replace the gasket. But I honestly don’t think it’s like something within the trans. But def gonna happen anyway.

There are no electronics on your trans, aside from maybe torque converter clutch... so, if it ain't workin' right, its a mechanical issue.

how does the fluid look and smell? i am guessing you may have burned up a transmission.
